Mountain Info

Did you know that Mount Peter was started in 1936 by Macy's Department Store to show off and sell their ski fashion?

The mountain that started so many years ago as a savvy marketing tool has grown to be a cherished place for people to fall in love with winter. Mount Peter, known as "The Friendly One", is the oldest operating ski area in New York State, and one of the few remaining family-operated ski areas in the country.
